"Prior to the introduction of the DENLAR fully integrated, pre-engineered fire suppression range hood system; there were few options available.  An official looking to protect a residential-grade appliance could require a full commercial hood system (often meaning a $20k hood system was installed over a $500 SEARS range) or allow a lesser retro-fit kit to be installed within a basic BROAN style hood.  Neither option was ideal.   The official either became the cause of a major cash expenditure to the facility or was forced to jeopardize public safety by allowing an unbonafied safety system to be used."
